Aaaaaaand here we are to wrap up another successful month.

For anyone wondering why I didn't post that much art, it's because I really spent my time with writing the script for my visual novel game. And it really paid off.

I'm now about 95% finished with the raw script. Obviously there will probably be a lot of clean-ups and rewritings later, but this is still a massive success. My original deadline for finishing the script was at like the end of June, but I managed to finish it in 2 months instead, hooray!

Now that the script is out of the way, I can spend my time on the visual part of the game. And this will probably be the most time-consuming part. The things I have to do now are:

-Character sprites (There are like 8 different characters who all need different facial expressions and also probably different poses)

-Backgrounds (There's not that many so that will probably not be that hard, even though I suck at drawing backgrounds.)

-CGs (This is the part where I'm scared of because that will take a lot of effort.)

-UI (It will be held simple so that's probably not that hard.)

-Extras (I'm planning to make little unlockable info sheets for all the characters but that's only when I'm done with the rest.)

And of course I will also have to make music, which I have no idea how to pull that off because I'm not a musician. Either I will have to learn that shit from the beginning or I will have to get the help of something, which is likely not happening because I operate with a budget of zero bucks.

Anyways, for the next month the focus will be on the character sprites. My deadline for the entire visual department is somewhere at the end of September, so that October and November I can work on the music and maybe the extras and then in December I can build everything together to finally finish the demo.

We'll see if everything goes according to this plan, if not then whatever. I don't have to rush myself, I'm just here to have fun. Just wish I had a bit more time to do other stuff (I recently tried to learn 3d modeling) but ah well.

So, that's it for the month, onto another successful one.

Aaaaand another successful month behind me. Time for another entry to my journal.

Okay, how's personal life: Good, everything's fine! Now to the important topics.

So, basically I've decided to ditch the RPG idea. Yeah, sucks but it's clear to me that like actually programming stuff like this isn't for me, not fun. But instead, I've decided to make a visual novel instead. That's right, Project Uncaged Dog is now going into this medium and honestly, from the progress so far, it seems like it's better that way. I've already been able to write a decent amount of story text this month, more than I could achieve in the previous month.

So what's the plan so far: Basically, I've decided to split the visual novel project into two parts: A small first chapter that introduces the world of the story and serves a bit as like as promotional demo, and then the full game which will be much larger (whether this one will also be seperated into different parts is irrelevant for now).

My plan so far is that I will first now write the rough text for the first chapter and have that finished somewhere around June this year. The rest of the year then will be spent with making character sprites, backgrounds, CGs, the UI as well as proof-reading and improving the script, so that around the beginning of the next year, I can release the first chapter demo into the wild.

I think so far I have finished around 30% of the script so I think I'm well inside the schedule. But honestly, even if I'm behind the schedule, who cares. It's my personal hobby project and I can control the work speed. All it matters is that I have fun and can show off something in the end that I'm proud of.

Anyways, on to another successful month.

Alright, time to wrap up the first month of the new year in my online journal.

It was a pretty regular month for me personally, nothing out of the ordinary happened. I was mostly busy trying to uphold my new year's resolutions (doing more fitness, going outside more yada yada yada) and simply just enjoying life.

Now towards the stuff that's more interesting: My video game.

So, the plan was that I would make my very own video game, a RPG to be more precisely. I tried the last month to get into programming (I've never done this before lol), I downloaded Godot, made some character and background assets and tried to program some simple movement and interaction options to create something presentable. Needless to say, I ran into some kinda issues.

It's not even that I really underestimated how hard programming could be; I expected that. The problem is that I often ran into issues where I didn't really knew a solution and I often had to work my way around in ways that doesn't really satisfy me. All in all, I don't think programming is for me.

Maybe I should try a different format to present the stories I want to share with the world. Maybe a visual novel or a comic will do the same for me. Or, maybe instead I will find someone who could do the programming for me while I only make the creative inputs.

It's all not very clear, but that's okay. That's the cool thing about doing this purely as a hobby, you can take your time to figure out what you're actually wanting to do and don't have to worry about upsetting anyone. Honestly, for Project Uncaged Dog (that's the working title of what my game is supposed to be) I already planned that the time I'm working on it will encompass somewhat around a decade, maybe less maybe more. I have some rough ideas of the story and some character designs but so far nothing too deep. I planned to release like a short first chapter of the overall larger story somewhere around next year and I honestly think regardless of what medium my project will be, I think that's still something that I should do.

Anyways, I think I should just continue doing what I like: drawing art, shitposting and overall having fun on the internet. I also got at least some followers on my sites already so I'm not completely shouting into the void. So yeah, that's it for January, onto a successful February!

Hello to everyone who stumbles along this page!

I'm Iggys a.k.a. Anarcho-Bunnyist, a newbie furry artist who is just at the beginning of their online adventures. I wanna use this blog feature to make a recap every month on everything I've achieved so far.

So, what are my plans? Basically, I wanna make my own video game. It's supposed to be one of these quirky Earthbound-inspired indie RPGs, but with more furries :). It's a pure hobby project, nothing I would except to make money of. That means I can take it slowly; if I finish the game in less than a decade I would be very proud. I can only gain experience of it. But first I have to learn how to code.

Other than that I just wanna have a good time, upload my art, shitpost and run my mouth. If anyone wants to follow me on that journey, you're more than welcome to stay. And don't forget to follow my Twitter because that's where I'm mainly at.

Anyways, love you all (Except you, Pete)!
